Instrument, 2016
Invited by Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, students from the DesignLab at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie were asked to design new instruments and perform them collectively.
For this project, I created a brass instrument shaped through silversmithing from a flat sheet of metal into a bowl-like form. The object sits between jewellery and instrument, designed as an extension of the hand. Worn on the fingers, it is played through movement and touch, creating sound as the rings make contact with the brass body.
