Tracing Wounds, 2021
Processes of recovery and mending require patience. They are often transformative, demanding a shift in shape, structure, or material. Through a series of copper pieces that explore the boundary between metal and textile, I apply mending techniques traditionally associated with repair and care. Is scarring evidence of healing, or a trace of injury? These works invite reflection on both material and immaterial wounds, and the ways in which damage can become part of a transformed state.
The work was exhibited at Studio Spijkerkade, Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 2021.
